Theme : Invest in Our Planet World Earth Day is an annual event celebrated on April 22nd every year to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote global efforts to protect the Earth’s natural resources. The first Earth Day was celebrated in 1970, and since then it has become a global movement with millions of people participating in various events, activities and campaigns to show their support for environmental protection and sustainability. Tree plantation/watering of plants was done and information was given to the children regarding the importance of this day and regarding protection of green cover of the Earth. Information regarding various medicinal plants and their uses was also given so that children are aware of the natural remedies that Mother Earth has provided us so that we avoid using artificial products and thus our planet can be saved from many harmful chemicals and effects. The medicinal plants used were that of Curry, Aloevera, Indian Tulsi, Chinese Tulsi and Carom seed. Proper handwashing technique was also taught to the children which helps in saving water and its proper utilisation and ultimately saving the Earth and its valuable resouces. It is the need of the hour ! Save Earth, Save Life !
