Kerala Public School, Burmamines celebrated World Environment Day 2026 with great enthusiasm and a shared commitment towards building a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future.
The day began with a Tree Plantation Drive organised by the Nature Ninjas Club, where staff members planted saplings across the school campus, reaffirming their responsibility towards protecting nature and increasing green cover. Adding to the occasion, the Banana Garden was inaugurated by Principal, Ms. Priyanka Barua, marking another significant step towards sustainable practices within the school campus.
A Cleanliness Drive conducted by our dedicated support staff highlighted the importance of maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
All staff members also came together to take a Green Pledge, promising to adopt eco-friendly habits and contribute towards environmental conservation. To spread awareness beyond the school campus, an Environment Day awareness video was shared in all class groups. Inspiring video messages were also recorded by Principal Ms. Priyanka Barua, Vice Principals Mr. Gawrab Banerjee and Ms. Manisha Majumder, Eco Club Incharges Ms. Manisha Srivastava and Ms. Sweta Kumari, Activity Co-ordinator Mr. Shubhodeep Sarkar, and Office Staff Members Ms. Gopika Rajesh and Ms. Shreyasi Mishra, encouraging everyone to take meaningful steps towards protecting our planet.
The support staff further showcased their environmental awareness through an engaging Environment Day Presentation, reflecting their active participation and commitment towards a sustainable future.
Student participation remained an integral part of the celebration despite the ongoing Summer Vacation. Students enthusiastically planted saplings at home along with their parents, grandparents, and guardians, turning the occasion into a meaningful family activity. Their efforts not only promoted environmental consciousness but also strengthened the message that every small step counts towards a greener tomorrow.
Together, these activities made World Environment Day 2026 a memorable and impactful celebration, inspiring the entire KPS Burmamines family to become responsible stewards of the environment.
